*Potty Training*

Since Makenna has showed a little more interest in going potty, we decided we'd give it another try. Last time we failed miserably, and she just cried the whole time.

Day 1 (June 27th):  Had her first accident right by the bathroom door. She ran to me and yelled "Oh no mom, I peed."  I gave her tons and tons of liquids but she didn't go from 10:30 am to about 3:30.  She was playing around and kept getting off the potty and accidently peed right as she was getting back on.  She went a little bit about an hour later.

I know potty training takes time, but it's definitely difficult when the child doesn't go for hours!
Day 2 (June 28th): I was hoping today would be a little easier, however she hasn't gone all morning.  She woke up around 8:30 and didn't go until 11:30 and of course had an accident.  I know she's still learning, but she gets so frustrated and will just cry because she doesn't want to go potty anymore.  I just have to step out and let my frustrations out so she doesn't see them.  I am so proud of her and hope she gets the hang of this soon.  Travis got home early from mowing lawns and told me to get out of the house and have some fun, and he would take over.  He said they were in the bathroom and she said "dad I peed" he goes "Makenna...did you really go?" she just smiled her silly smile and said "no" and laughed really hard.  He said she got really quiet and about 5 minutes later finally went.  She was so excited, they called me on the phone to tell me what a big girl she was.  About two hours later as I was getting her ready for a bath, she goes "uh oh mom" and as I turned she started to go, so I hurry and put her on the potty and she said "oh no mom, mess on floor" haha.  She definitely makes potty training silly.

Day 3 (June 29th): Kenna came into our room this morning, and we told her she needed go use the potty.  She took Travis' hand and took him straight there with no fights.

Day 5 (July 1st): She is getting so much better at going potty! She yelled "mom potty, potty" so we ran her into the bathroom and sure enough she went.  She did that a couple of times and she has gone. We are so proud of her, and how fast she is catching on.  I noticed when we have her in a pull up (for naps) she wont tell me if she needs to go, but as soon as those panties come on she is sure on top of things.

  1. That girl always makes me laugh! I am so happy she is starting to get the hang of it. I always tell my girls there are two times a parent's love increases....when they sleep through the night.....and when they become potty trained! Give her a hug and kiss from us!
