*Youth Basketball Camp*

Today was Wendell's 1st Annual Youth Basketball Camp held at the Middle School. Wendell sports have not been the greatest for quite sometime and so we (Phil Wert and I) talked about doing something that might start to change that. We thought maybe this might be a good place to start since I am attempting to be a basketball coach.  I was finally able to put it together and it turned out great. We had about 25-28 kids today and have more coming on Thursday. They each received a blue and white basketball so that when they are done with the camp they can play at home.
Bryon Hope has helped out quite a bit since he is doing this for his Senior Project. We also had Luke and Sam Kelsey, many of the high school boys and a couple of the girls basketball players come help as well. It only lasted two hours, but by the end of it I could barely talk. Who knew yelling positive things for two straight hours could do that to a person?
Makenna and Peyton were there. Tiffany Egbert really helped me out by watching them during the camp. Makenna even got into the action and participated in some of the drills. I know she's going to be a great little player before long. All in all, today was success.
Now, on to planning for Wendell Youth Football Camp!
