Why do we teach our children?

This is this question that I keep asking myself!  We have tried to teach Makenna new things everyday, and somehow it ends up back firing on me.  Last night I had to run to the store for some things, and took Makenna with me.  We have been learning that the red light means stop, and green light means go.  I was at the stop light and it was red.  I was turning right, so once it was clear I decided to go.  As soon as I turned I hear "MOM!!!! THAT LIGHT WAS RED!!!"  The whole way to the store she went on and on how when it's red we don't go, and we have to wait for the green light.  Once we were in the store, she still was talking about it.  It just made me laugh how easily she picks up on things.
