*A Little Bit Early*

This year we decided to do things a little different.  Usually when we go to family for the holidays we bring our presents with us, but since we're flying to Washington we decided to have our own little Christmas, but still have Santa come to Washington.  We decided to do it tonight because our schedule was really busy for the next following week and we wanted a time when we could spend the entire day together.

We got ready for church and then had a little party.  I bought some treats and Makenna was happier about that, rather than her presents.  I put the first one in front of her and told her it was from mom and dad, and she just beamed!!!  She got really excited when Travis and I opened our presents as well.  We got lots of fun stuff this year, and we can't wait to be able to use them.

After church and naps we decided to decorate the gingerbread house my sister got for us for Christmas.  It was a little messy, but a ton of fun!  Makenna kept sneaking the candy after she would put it on the house, and just giggle when she got caught.  It was fun to be together and have a little fun.

We had chicken parmigiana, salad and sparkling cider for dinner.  It was really delicious!  We ended the night watching some movies and just cuddled together.  As much as it was fun with our little family, I'm really excited to spend the holidays with the rest of everyone.  I'm going to miss my family this year, but with all the fun stuff we have planned it will hopefully take my mind off of it.  I love this time of year, and all the fun memories we're going to be able to make.
