*Too Much Rain*

Memorial Day weekend was coming up and we all realized we didn't have to work, so we planned a trip to Boise.  We woke up early Monday morning and headed for some fun, but little did we know we would be rained out!  We were able to go with our good friends Kelsey and Brady.

We got into Boise just as it started to rain, so we knew we weren't going to be able to do what we had decided to do.  We had our picnics made and then we were going to head over to the Boise zoo to see some animals.  We hurried and changed our plans and the day turned out pretty good.  We decided we wanted to run into Old Navy so just as I had pulled off the exit I heard Makenna in the back seat make a weird noise and as I turned around to see what was wrong she had vomited every where!!!  Before I had actually stopped she had thrown up 3 more times!! Travis and I jumped out of the car and stripped her down to her diaper in the pouring rain onto the wet grass.  She was shivering and crying so we hurried as best we could.  We figured she had probably gotten motion sickness from watching the DVD player in the car, because she was happy the rest of the trip.

We decided we'd try and see if the rain would stop and so we headed to the Old Boise Penitentiary as they had tours going on.  Some of the buildings were really old and had fallen apart but it was amazing to see where these inmates lived.  Here is some information we received about the prision: The Old Idaho Penitentiary was a functioning prison for 101 years. It was built in 1870 and the first prisoners were brought in 1872. The buildings on the site were built by inmate laborers. The Old Idaho Penitentiary grew from a single cell house into a complex of several buildings holding Idaho's most notorious criminals. The Old Pen received over 13,000 inmates with a maximum population of 603 inmates. There were 222 women inmates.

Well despite all the rain, cold weather, vomiting and a smelly car we definitely had a fabulous time!!  Hopefully more adventures await us!
