*1st Day of School*

Every year we have a back to school dinner, and this time Makenna got to choose what she wanted.  Travis started a couple weeks before she did, but today was her first day.  We laid out her clothes, jewelry and back pack the night before.  I woke her up this morning, and she wasn't as eager to go. Once she woke up, she couldn't stop talking about finally leaving to meet her teacher.  Travis met me at the school, and we took her into the elementary together.  As soon as we got to the classroom, she got quiet, and looked so sad.  I wanted to grab her, run home and snuggle her, but decided I better get it over with.  I had to walk out of the classroom a couple times so she didn't see me tear up, but she finally found a friend and was fine.  I was excited all morning for noon to come, so I could call her on my lunch break.  She was so happy and giggly she could barely talk to me.  I said "how was school?"  She would reply "school, what's school" and would laugh and laugh!!  She was teasing me, but I was dying to know how her day was.  Finally when I got home, she told me about all the stuff she did.  She met a new friend named Lacie, and informed me she liked girls much better than boys!  She raised her hand, told her teacher she had to go potty, and did it all by herself.  I taught her how to tell if it was a girls bathroom or a boys, and she was able to go alone.  I see how fast she's growing up and I wish time would just slow down!  She's becoming an even more beautiful girl and I just love everything about her.
